Besançon
Meet at Dijon Railway Station at 2:45 P.M.
Sat. (Suggested train is Lyria TGV leaving
Paris 12:58 p.m. arriving Dijon at 2:37
p.m. Train Schedules may change for July.)
Coach Transfer to Lorraine moored in
the town of Besançon. Welcome cocktail on
board and orientation of the boat. At 7
p.m. you will experience your first Gourmet
dinner on board.

Sunday
Besançon -- Baume Les Dames
After
breakfast we will visit Besançon which is a
World Heritage City. Recently UNESCO added
the citadel which was built by the famous
military architect Vauban, the ancient city
walls, and Fort Griffon. to its list of
World Heritage Sites. You will have a
guided walking tour of all these places plus
spend a delightful time in Old Town with
buildings dating from the middle ages.
During this tour you will see the
extraordinary astronomical clock.
This afternoon we cruise to Baume les dames

Monday
Baume Les Dames -- L'Isle sur le Doubs
This morning we will begin with a morning
visit to Ornans , jewel of the Loue valley
with it’s, ancient houses , 16th.c church,
and a museum dedicated to the Impressionist
painter Gustav Corbet. You will see a lot
of works and paraphernalia from this famous
painter. This afeternoon we will cruise to
the charmlng riverside town of l'isle sur le
doubs, a
charming riverside town. This marks the end
of the river navigation. From now on it's
canal navigation giving us ample
opportunities to cycle and walk on the
towpaths. . |

Tuesday
L'Isle sur le Doubs -- Montbeliard
This morning we cruise to Montbeliard ,with
its lovely old town center and 17c chateau.
We will also visit the Peugeot museum with a
collection of their cars since 1889, and
later visit the factory to see the assembly
line and how modern cars are built.

Wednesday
Montbeliard -- Dannemarie
We cruise through the summit level of the
canal at Montreux-chateau and cruise down a
narrow valley to Dannemarie
-16 locks!-
to Dannemarie ,a very rural Alsatian
community ;this afternoon we visit Thann ,a
picturesque old town with the exceptionnal
church St Thiébaut and its 14thc. portal , a
unique example of the flamboyant gothic
style . We will also have the opportunity to
do some wine tasting since we are now in the
area of alsatian Riesling.

Thursday
Dannemarie -- Mulhouse
We continue cruising to Mulhouse, and its
fantastic choice of museums. We will visit
the Steam Train museum and the national car
museum with its 464 cars of 98 different
brands dating from the turn of the 20th
Century.
Of course it is Thursday, our last day of
cruising. Tonight is our Gala farewell
dinner..

Friday
After Breakfast you will be transported to
the Mulhouse Train Station to arrive there
before 10 a.m.
|
